The School Bell Rings

Daddy Loves you this much

The School Bell has Rung, the last 'RRRrrring-Ring' for the day. All the kids are lined up, to be taken home and away. 'Where's your Daddy?' she said, 'He's running late,' the boy replied. The Curly-Haired Teacher was doubting, as it was shortly after 5.
1
The boy saw the concern in his sweet teacher's eyes. 'Don't worry, Miss Marcia,' 'My Daddy will arrive.' 'Daddy made me a promise, a pinky promise, dear Miss. Those can't be broken, ours has a fist bump and thumb kiss.'
2
As he confidently waited, he described his Daddy's truck. 'It's gray with black wheels, Ma'am,' 'And my Daddy loves me THIS MUCH!' With his arms so wide open, to show the size of their love.
3
That gray truck with black wheels had suddenly showed up! The boy took off like the Flash, straight towards the gray pickup. 'See, I told you, Miss Marcia! My Daddy loves me THIS MUCH!'
4
Out the driver's side door, here comes his Daddy, his Father. 'Apologies for the delay, I did not mean to be a bother.'
5
Together they walked, hand in hand, homeward bound. The boy chattered away, sharing stories he found. 'I made a new friend, Cayden, he's really cool. And Mrs. Thompson gave us candy, that was so cool!'
6
As they reached home, a surprise awaited. Daddy had New Paints and an Easel, the boy's favorite, he stated. 'I'm sorry for being late, Buddy Boy, but I got these for you, just for fun.'
7
They sat at the table, sharing cookies and laughter. Daddy listened intently to every story thereafter. 'I love you more than words can say,' Daddy smiled. The boy beamed back, 'I love you, Daddy,' reconciled.
8
As the day came to an end, bedtime drew near. Daddy tucked him in, whispering, 'Have no fear.' 'I'll tell you a story, to help you drift away. Of adventures and dreams, until the break of day.'
9
The boy closed his eyes, feeling safe and sound. In dreamland, he danced, in a world so profound. With Daddy's love as his guide, he soared high. Sweet dreams filled his heart, as he reached the sky.
10
With the morning light, the boy woke with a smile. Daddy's love surrounded him, mile after mile. 'Good morning, my sunshine,' Daddy's voice so warm. The boy hugged him tight, feeling safe from harm.
11
In a world full of wonder, their love stood tall. Daddy and son, together through it all. Through ups and downs, come what may. Daddy's love shines bright, every single day.
