The Busy Street

Homeless

In a bustling town, Lucy stood on the busy street corner. She was holding a small sign that said 'Please help'. People passed by, but no one stopped to help her. Lucy felt a bit sad and lonely as she watched the crowds rush past.

Anna-Louisa and Mackenzie were walking together, chatting about their day. They noticed Lucy standing with her sign. Anna-Louisa wrinkled her nose and said, 'Ew, no, I don't want to give her money.' Mackenzie agreed, saying, 'Ew, no, let's keep walking.' So they walked on, leaving Lucy behind.

A little while later, Remy came by. She noticed Lucy and stopped to talk. 'Hi, I'm Remy,' she said with a smile. Lucy looked up and smiled back. 'I can give you some money,' Remy offered kindly.

Lucy was surprised and happy. 'Thank you so much, Remy!' she said. Remy and Lucy started talking and became friends. They decided to meet again and spend more time together. From that day on, Lucy never felt lonely on the busy street.
