The Sweet Jar Mystery

Little Miss Ella and the Sweet Surprise

Little Miss Ella loved sweets more than anything! Every Sunday night, she would count her sweets to make sure she knew how many were left. One Thursday morning, Ella excitedly grabbed her jar. But when she looked inside, she gasped. "Wait a minute! I had 12 sweets yesterday, but now I only see 8," she said.

Ella scratched her head and started whining. "Where did my 4 candies go, Mommy?" she asked. Her mom smiled and said, "Maybe you should investigate, Ella." Ella decided to find out what happened to her sweets. She looked around her room for clues.
2
Just then, Ella noticed her cousin June sneaking out of her room. June had chocolate on her face! Ella thought for a second and said, "Hmm, I wonder if June took some of my sweets." She decided to follow June to the living room.
3
In the living room, Ella saw June holding 4 of her chocolates. "Aha! That’s where some of my sweets went," Ella said. But she was still missing more. Ella decided to look around a bit more to solve the mystery. She knew she had to find the rest of her missing candies.

Ella went back to her room and looked under her bed. There she found her dog, Mocha, chewing on 2 of her Reese's cups. "Mocha! You took 2 of my favorite candies!" Ella exclaimed. Mocha wagged her tail, looking guilty but adorable.
5
Ella counted again to make sure she found all her sweets. "Let’s see… I had 12 sweets. June took 4, Mocha took 2, and now I have 6 left. That makes 12!" Ella was relieved that the mystery was solved. She smiled and felt happy to have her sweets back.
6
Ella smiled and hugged June. "Next time, just ask before you take my sweets, Junie Poh!" she laughed. June grinned, chocolate still on her face. "Okay, Ella, I promise I’ll ask next time," June said. Ella then looked at Mocha and gave her a big hug too.

With everything solved, Ella sat down and enjoyed one of her Reese's cups. "Now that I’ve found all my sweets, I can finally have one!" she said happily. Ella learned to keep an eye on her sweets and to share them with her friends. She felt happy and content. It was a sweet ending to her little adventure.
