A Visit to Uncle John

Prison

Once upon a time, there was a little boy named John Jr. He had an Uncle John who was very adventurous. Uncle John loved cars, but he made a mistake and took some that weren't his. Now, Uncle John was living behind big, tall prison bars. John Jr. missed his uncle and wanted to help him feel better.

John Jr. had an idea to write Uncle John a letter. He took out his crayons and paper. He drew a big, bright sun and a happy face. Then, he wrote, 'Dear Uncle John, I miss you!' John Jr. hoped the letter would make Uncle John smile.

Uncle John received the letter and it made his day. In prison, Uncle John stayed busy by exercising in the gym. He liked to lift weights and run on the treadmill. This helped him stay strong and healthy. Uncle John knew he made a mistake but was trying to make the best of it.

Every week, Uncle John could order things from the commissary. He got snacks like cookies and chips. These little treats made life in prison a bit sweeter. Uncle John even shared with his new friends. It was nice to have something to look forward to.

Back at home, Granny was worried about Uncle John. She wanted him to come to the family picnic. Granny missed her son very much. She sometimes panicked and felt sick thinking about him. John Jr. tried to cheer her up by telling her about Uncle John's letter.

John Jr. had a plan to make Granny feel better. He suggested they have a picnic at home and send pictures to Uncle John. Granny loved the idea and started preparing sandwiches and lemonade. John Jr. helped by picking flowers for the table. They both smiled, thinking Uncle John would enjoy the pictures.

On the day of the picnic, John Jr. and Granny took lots of pictures. They captured the delicious food and their happy faces. Later, they sent the pictures to Uncle John. Uncle John was thrilled to see his family having fun. It made him feel like he was part of the picnic too.

Uncle John learned an important lesson. He realized that making the right choices is very important. He promised himself to do better once he was out of prison. John Jr. was proud of his uncle for trying to change. They both looked forward to the day they could have a real picnic together.
