Chensan was a lively and cheerful boy. He lived within the old walled village of Longxue Head, where his family's ancestral hall had been built beside the walls for generations. Every day after school, Chensan would go play at the gate of the ancestral hall. The moss-covered ancient stone steps in front of the hall was where Chensan liked to jump around, pretending he was a dragon. Chensan's best playmate was Meihu, a girl from the neighboring village who grew up there. They often went together to the Tianhou Temple in Longxue Head to play, looking at the candles and offerings in front of the statues. Chensan found everything in the Tianhou Temple novel. Sometimes, he and Meihu would also go to the ancient well at the entrance of the village to have water fights. It was Chensan's tenth birthday and he was excited for the lantern lighting ceremony. That night, dressed in traditional attire, he carried a torch and incense burner as he walked to the Deng Gong Shrine in Songling. It was Chensan's first time entering the majestic shrine hall, and he was amazed. Under the light of the flames, the glittering wall paintings appeared one by one before his eyes. After the lantern lighting ceremony ended, Chensan and his family went to the Tianhou Temple to pay respects. On the way home, the moon hung high in the sky, bathing the ancient walled village in an unusually peaceful glow. For the first time, Chensan developed a deep fondness for the traditional culture of his hometown. As Chensan grew older, he began to learn more about the history and culture of Longxue Head. From the village head and other elders, he heard the origins of the walled village, shrine halls, and Tianhou Temple. Max cheered loudly for Turbo. Around and around they went, Turbo on his skateboard and Oliver swooping through the air. It was a close race, but in the end, Turbo’s speed on wheels won the day! The animals celebrated Turbo and Max with a grand feast, where they shared stories and laughed until the stars came out. When it was time to go home, Oliver gave Max a special acorn as a souvenir, which he promised would bring them back to the magical world whenever they wished. A force is a push or pull. Right now, I’m pulling the bucket up, but gravity is pulling it down, which makes it feel so heavy.” “Gravity? What’s that?” Aryan asked, scratching his head. Aryan, there has to be a way to help Daadi!” Aryan nodded. “Let’s ask Chacha! He’s always fixing things at his workshop.” The two rushed to their uncle’s workshop, where tools, ropes, and wooden planks were scattered everywhere. “Chacha, can you help us make something to make Daadi’s work easier?” Aditi asked eagerly. Chacha smiled. Of course! We can make a pulley. It’s a simple machine that makes lifting heavy things much easier. A pulley? What’s that? Aryan asked. Chacha said, “A pulley is a wheel with a groove around it. When you pass a rope through the groove, it changes the direction of force. Instead of pulling straight up, you pull down, and it feels lighter” “Can we make one?” Aditi asked excitedly. “Sure! Let’s get some materials,” Chacha said. They found an old bicycle wheel, a rope, and a wooden frame. First, they attached the wheel to the wooden frame using nails. Then, they threaded the rope through the groove in the wheel and tied one end to an empty bucket. Aditi pulled the rope. the bucket lifted smoothly. “That’s the power of the pulley, It doesn’t make the bucket weigh less, but it helps you use less force to lift it.” The next morning, Daadi tried the pulley and was amazed. “Wah! This is wonderful! It’s so easy now!”
