In the magical land of Numberville, the numbers lived in cozy houses on a street called Place Value Lane. There were two neighborhoods: Tens Town and Ones Village.

One day, in Ones Village, the number 3 was trying to give 5 apples to a friend, but there was a problem. 3 didn't have enough apples! Oh no! How can I give 5 apples when I only have 3? thought the number.

But in Numberville, the numbers always help each other. So, 3 had an idea: "I’ll borrow some apples from my neighbor in Tens Town!"

So, 3 went next door to Tens Town to talk to the number 6 who lived there. "Hey 6, I need to give away more apples than I have. Can I borrow some from you?"

6 smiled and said, "Of course! We’re neighbors, and neighbors always help out." So, 6 gave 1 of its apples to 3, but because it was from Tens Town, it was worth 10 apples!

Now, 3 turned into 13 with the borrowed apples! "Yay!" said 13. "Now I have more than enough to give away 5 apples."

After sharing 5 apples, 13 was left with 8 apples. And since 6 gave 1 apple to Ones Village, it turned into 5 in Tens Town.

The numbers were happy because they helped each other, and everyone got exactly what they needed. And so, whenever a number doesn’t have enough to subtract, they just borrow from their neighbors in Tens Town, and everything works out perfectly.

4. Phil was visiting the tropical island for two months. 
5. All of his possessions fitted into the two tubs.
6. When Phil was packing his clothes into the tubs, he was thinking how much stuff he had left behind at home. He was also thinking of little he needed on his visit to the tropical island. 
7. Each day as Phil took out something to wear he reflected on what it felt like to live with so little. 
8. It felt good. Phil felt free! Life was simple and uncluttered. 
9. Little did the tubs know that they had become a symbol of a new way of living for Phil. 
10. They had taught Phil a very important lesson, to not collect to much stuff but to live simply.

1.  John Jr and Yuēhàn was learning about the different wars that helped shape America.  They came across the Mexican American War and looked into it a bit more.  John Jr showed Yuēhàn how to look stuff up on the internet.
2.  John Jr discovered The Mexican–American War,, was an invasion of Mexico by the United States Army from 1846 to 1848. It followed the 1845 American annexation of Texas, which Mexico still considered its territory because it refused to recognize the Treaties of Velasco, signed by President Antonio López de Santa Anna after he was captured by the Texian Army during the 1836 Texas Revolution. The Republic of Texas was de facto an independent country, but most of its Anglo-American citizens who had moved from the United States to Texas after 1822 wanted to be annexed by the United States.

As Maha drifted off to sleep, she thought about how her older sister always took care of her and protected her. She realized that she should listen to her sister and respect her wisdom. From that day on, Maha and Mira's bond grew stronger, and Maha learned to appreciate her sister's guidance and love. And as they grew older, they became the best of friends, always looking out for each other in their magical land

漫步在寧靜的天后宮前庭,我聆聽著空靈的鐘聲,便會不自覺地沉浸在寧謐祥和的氛圍中。這裏保存著珍貴的青銅古鐘,每次擊響都訴說著這個村莊的動人故事。我不禁想像,多少善信在此虔誠懇求,又有多少鄧族子弟在此祈求平安順利。

Miss Rebekah taught Claire math so grand,
With challenging work and a trinomial cube in hand.
Miss Cassandra lent her a sweater so snug,
A gesture of kindness, like a warm hug.

"Claire, Grace, Lily," guides would sing,
"You can do most anything.
With your friends right by your side,
The world is wide, your hearts are wide."

Around the sun, they'd walk with pride,
A birthday journey, side by side.
With each new year, a story spun,

Graduating to kindergarten they go,

Mello was excited but nervous. It was his first day at a new school, and he hoped to make friends. As he walked into the classroom, he noticed something right away—he was the only Black student. The other kids glanced at him but didn’t say anything. Mello took a deep breath and sat quietly. He wasn’t sure if anyone would talk to him, but he knew he had to try.

At recess, Mello saw a group of kids playing soccer. He loved soccer, but he was unsure if they’d let him join. Gathering his courage, he walked over and asked, “Can I play too?”

The kids exchanged glances. “Where are you from?” asked Tristan.

“I’m from a different school,” Mello replied. “But I love soccer, just like you.”

Skylar looked at him and said, “We’ve never had a friend like you before.”

Mello smiled and said, “That’s okay! I’ve never had friends like you either. We can learn from each other.”

There was a pause, then Tristan passed him the ball. “Sure! Let’s play!”

As they played, Mello felt his nervousness fade. He dribbled, passed, and even scored! The kids were laughing and playing together, and Mello realized it didn’t matter that he looked different—what mattered was that they were having fun.

After the game, Skylar told Mello, “You’re really good! I’m glad you played with us.”

Later, back in class, the teacher noticed Mello looking unsure. She walked over and said, “If you ever need help or want to talk, I’m here for you.” Mello smiled, feeling grateful to have a trusted adult in the classroom.

The next day, the teacher led a discussion about kindness and making everyone feel welcome. Tristan suggested, “We could ask more questions to get to know new students.” Skylar added, “We can learn from each other’s differences.”

Mello realized that being different wasn’t something to hide—it made him special. His new friends saw that their differences made them stronger together.

In the end, Mello knew that being unique wasn’t just okay—it was beautiful.

1.Lera was a cheerful and lively little girl who had just turned four years old. Her mother, Julia, always tried to teach Lera something new. One fine day, Julia noticed that Lera's room was filled with toys scattered all over the floor. Julia decided it was time to teach Lera how to clean up, but to do it in a way that would turn tidying up into an exciting adventure.
"Lera," called Julia, "how about we play a game of real helpers?"
"What will we do, Mommy?" Lera asked with curiosity.
"We'll help each other clean up our house," Julia smiled. "I'll show you how, and soon you'll become the real mistress of your room."
Lera's eyes sparkled at the idea of becoming the little mistress of her room. Julia began with something simple—showing her how to place toys on the shelves.

Lera, captivated by the game, didn't even notice how many toys were piling up around her. But Julia, knowing the importance of teaching a child to keep things tidy from a young age, decided to seize the moment to show Lera how to take care of her belongings.

"Lera, look at all the toys you have here!" said Julia with a smile. "Let’s play a fun game. We will be little helpers who help all the toys find their place."

Lera looked at her mom with interest. 

"How do we do that?" she asked.

"It’s very simple," explained Julia. "Every time you finish playing with a toy, we'll help it return to its 'home'—either on a shelf or in a box. You can imagine that the toys are your friends, and they also need to rest after playing."

Lera thought for a moment, then burst into a joyful laugh.

"Let's do it, Mommy!" she said, running over to the first teddy bear lying on the floor.

Julia and Lera began carefully picking up the toys. Julia showed Lera where to put each item, and the little girl happily helped. They turned the cleaning into a fun game, inventing stories about how the toys thanked Lera for helping them return home.
