A pivotal moment occurs when Abby finds her discarded rain cap on the beach, now containing a dead mudskipper—a poignant illustration of how carelessly discarded plastics harm marine life. The students participate in a beach cleanup, collecting 27 bags of trash, and Abby gains a profound understanding of environmental conservation.
