I am outside on the streets begging for food. Someone walks past me and says “eww.” I then start crying, in the background there is a bread pop up where someone is selling bread. I walk past the bread stand, over to a brick wall. I lean against the wall, and think of a plan. The plan is to do multiple crimes so i can be arrested, I want to be arrested because i will get food and safety in the jail cell. I then go back to my spot where i begged at and slept. Today is the day where i commit crimes, first, i steal some bread, then I spray paint a wall, then i steal again jacket. The cops find me and I’m arrested. I am happy but stressed at the same time. I am now in jail and have air conditioning and food.

Miss Emily is a Special Education teacher. Helena and Luke are students in Miss Eve's class. Miss Emily has put Helena and Luke in a group together. They will be working with Miss Emily in Miss Eve's classroom 2 days a week on Monday and Thursday. On a sunny morning, Alex woke up excitedly. And shouted, "Today is I Can Do It Day! Excited," and jumped out of bed. At breakfast, Alex helped his mom set the table. His mom ruffled his hair and said, "You sure did, Alex! You're such a helper.", At preschool, the classroom buzzed with energy. Ms. Maya, their teacher, unfurled a giant banner that said "I Can Do It Day!" in bright colors. "Today," she announced, "we're going to learn all sorts of things we can do by ourselves!" As the day ended, Alex's heart was full. He had built a tall tower, painted a colorful picture, and even carried his own bowl! He learned that with a little effort and a lot of "I can do it" spirit, he could accomplish amazing things. On the way home, Alex held his mom's hand tightly. "Mommy," he said with a big grin, "I can do it!" His mom hugged him close. "Yes, Alex," she said, "you sure can!"

The children want to start collecting plastic bottle tops to recycle with Lids4Kids. They meet a nice volunteer who will drive their lids to Canberra for them. Then they send a letter home to their families and ask them to collect plastic bottle tops from milk bottles, pop bottles and water bottles. The children enjoy washing the lids in warm soapy water with their family (and pet dog). Next week all the children bring in a bag of lids each. Together they group the lids into colour groups. The nice volunteer pick them up and takes them to Lids4Kids in Canberra. The lids are then turned into a rainbow colored park bench. The teacher surprises the children by buying the rainbow park bench for their playground.
