Even his teacher, Mrs. Whiskers, seemed preoccupied with lesson plans. Whiskers felt a little pang of disappointment. It wasn't the birthday celebration he'd imagined. He trudged home, his little cat heart a bit heavy. He opened the door, expecting the same quiet house. Instead… A roar of "Surprise!" erupted!
