Once upon a time there was a beetle who loved to tell everyone how fast he could run. “I am the fastest insect in the park,” he would say. His slow and steady friend the snail, tired of hearing him brag, challenged him to a race. “Ha,” the beetle thought to himself, “there is no way a snail could ever win against me.” On the day of the race, all of the insects in the park gathered to watch. The centipede waved a checkered flag to start the race. The beetle zoomed past the starting line as fast as he could, while the snail carefully inched herself forward bit by bit. The beetle cried out “You will never win this race at that slow, slow pace.” Out of breath from running, the beetle eventually reached a small pond of water. He thought, “I have plenty of time. I just will go around the pond.” The beetle sped off on his way. Inch by inch the snail crawled along the path. As she reached the pond, she thought, “It would be much shorter if I could somehow float across the water.” Perhaps I could build a boat. The snail gathered up some leaves, twigs and vine. She fashioned a small boat that helped her glide smoothly across the water of the pond. When she got to the other side, she hopped off the boat and could see all of her friends waiting for her at the finish line. Little by little the snail crept along the path until she crossed the finish line at long last. All of her friends cheered. “Hooray for snail!” they cried. A moment later the beetle came running across the finish line. “I can’t believe you beat me!” he said. “You know,” the snail replied with a smile, “being the fastest isn’t always everything”. “Sometimes if you just slow down for a moment and think about your challenge, you can come up with great solutions.”

Johnny is a kids soccer player. Johnny loves soccer, but during one of his games he wasn't listening to his teammate and fell. He cried and fell to his mom to show his bruise on his knee but he was talking too erratically for her to understand, so she guides him so he'll calm down. After he calms down and tells her what happened, she takes him to the nurse and she makes johnny tell the nurse what happened. After he did so he got a band aid and was able to play and win the scoring goal for his team

Little girl takes her first road trip to a neighbouring country

In a small German town, Luzia spoke Hornjoserbšćina (Upper Sorbian) and loved her culture. She greeted her family, "Dobre rano, mama! Dobre rano, tato!" and enjoyed lužiski koláč (Lusatian cake) for breakfast. Luzia felt proud in her traditional kroj (costume) but sad when her friends didn’t understand her language. At school, her teacher, Pani Novak, taught in German. Luzia tried teaching Upper Sorbian to her classmates but found it challenging. After school, she played in the luga (meadow), singing Sorbian songs. At home, she helped her babka make knedliki (dumplings) and listened to her děda's tales. She whispered "Dobru noc, swět" (Good night, world) each night, dreaming of preserving her culture. One favorite poem was "Serbska Róža" (The Sorbian Rose). Luzia hoped for a future where everyone knew her language. As long as she spoke Upper Sorbian, it would live on.

Though they were excited, they also felt a little nervous. As they walked along the winding path, Donkey kicked a small stone and sighed. "What if we don't like our new home?" he asked. Fredrick the Frog hopped onto Donkey's back. "Don't worry, Donkey! We’ll make it fun, together!" His cheerful croak made Donkey smile. Marble the white bear, soft and fluffy as snow, was thinking too. "Will we make new friends there?" she asked quietly. Big Bear Brown, towering over everyone with his big, warm smile, gave Marble a gentle pat. "Of course we will," he said. "As long as we're together, anywhere can feel like home." When they arrived at the forest, everything seemed new and strange. The trees were taller, the grass was softer, and the birds sang songs they'd never heard before. "Let's explore!" Fredrick called, hopping ahead. He found a small pond with sparkling water. Marble splashed her paws in it, giggling. Donkey and Big Bear Brown joined in, and soon they were all laughing together. As the sun began to set, they found a cozy clearing with tall trees and soft moss—just the perfect spot for their new home. Donkey set up a comfy tent, Marble gathered some flowers, Fredrick built a small fire, and Big Bear Brown unpacked their snacks. “This place isn’t so bad after all,” Donkey said, feeling happier. "It’s better than good," Fredrick croaked. "It’s home." And as they huddled together under the twinkling stars, Donkey, Fredrick, Marble, and Big Bear Brown knew that no matter where they went, as long as they had each other, they would always be home.
