What’s wrong?” Finn sighed. “I sometimes feel like I don’t belong in the forest. Everyone’s busy, and I feel left out.” Scene 3 Sophie’s heart warmed. She didn’t want Finn to feel alone. “Don’t worry! We’ll spend the day together. You don’t need to fit in anywhere because you’re perfect just as you are!” Finn’s ears perked up. “Really?” “Of course! Let’s have fun exploring the forest!” Sophie said. Scene 4 The two friends explored the forest. Sophie bounced from branch to branch, and Finn trotted along, wagging his tail. They played, raced, and laughed together. Scene 5 They came to a glade with colorful flowers and a stream. Sophie twirled in the meadow and said, “See? The forest is beautiful, and you belong here, Finn.” Finn smiled. “You’re right, Sophie. I feel better now.” Scene 6 As the sun set, they sat on a rock, watching the stars. “This was the best day,” Finn said. “Thank you, Sophie. You made me so much happier.” Sophie smiled. “That’s what friends are for. I’m always here for you.” Scene 7 From then on, Sophie and Finn spent every day together in the forest, exploring, laughing, and enjoying each other’s company. Along the way, they met the fox’s friends—a wise old owl, a towering moose, and a deer with magnificent antlers. When she heard howling, she shivered, but the fox reassured her. “That’s Fenrir, our protector.” A beautiful wolf appeared and led the way deeper into the forest. “Where are we going?” Gypsy-Rose asked, but the fox only grinned. Suddenly, the trees opened up to reveal a hidden winter wonderland. A frozen lake sparkled under the stars, and in the center stood a giant glowing tree. Tiny fairies fluttered around it, their wings shimmering like frost. “This is the Heart of the Winter Forest,” the fox said. “Only those who believe in magic can find it.” Warm lights glowed inside the tree, and the air smelled of chocolate and cinnamon. Little creatures with fluffy white fur brought out steaming mugs and delicious treats. Gypsy-Rose sat with her new friends, sipping hot chocolate, feeling warm and happy inside. They worked quietly for a few minutes, and slowly, Sarah began to smile. “Oh, I get it now,” Sarah said, her face lighting up. “Thanks, Katie. I didn’t know how to do this before." Sarah hugged Katie tightly. Katie felt proud of herself. It was hard to help someone who had been mean, but she felt like she had made the right choice. Even though Sarah wasn’t always kind to her, Katie knew she could still be the bigger person. As the bell rang and Katie stood up to go to class, Sarah said, “Hey, um, sorry about the stuff I said before. I wasn’t very nice.” Katie smiled and nodded. “It’s okay,” she said. She didn’t expect Sarah to change overnight, but at least she knew she had done something good.
