Despite meticulously clearing weeds, stones, and even turning over the soil, the sons failed to find any treasure. They repeatedly searched the vineyard, growing suspicious and questioning whether their father had lied to them. In the end, the sons discovered that their father had indeed buried a mysterious treasure in the vineyard, leading them to newfound wealth.
