The sea witch smiled wickedly. “You will help me find my lost crown, or you must stay here forever!” The sea witch became distracted by a family of lost turtles, trying to enter her underwater cave. Alex looked at Poppy, his heart racing. “We need to get out of here!” With a nod of agreement, they started to tip-toe behind the mountains of treasure in the sea witch’s cave. Suddenly, they spotted a golden starfish that shimmered brightly—it looked magical! “Let’s grab it!” shouted Poppy, reaching out. As they grasped the starfish together, a brilliant light filled the cave! With a bright flash, the starfish granted them one wish. The friends looked at each other, grinned, and shouted together, “Take us back home!” In an instant, they found themselves back on the sandy beach, the sun shining down once more. They cheered and hugged each other. “Where have you been?” Alex’s mum asked. “You wouldn’t believe me if I told you!” Alex laughed.

Every day after school, Chensan would go play at the gate of the ancestral hall. The moss-covered ancient stone steps in front of the hall was where Chensan liked to jump around, pretending he was a dragon. Chensan's best playmate was Meihu, a girl from the neighboring village who grew up there. They often went together to the Tianhou Temple in Longxue Head to play, looking at the candles and offerings in front of the statues. Chensan found everything in the Tianhou Temple novel. Sometimes, he and Meihu would also go to the ancient well at the entrance of the village to have water fights. It was Chensan's tenth birthday and he was excited for the lantern lighting ceremony. That night, dressed in traditional attire, he carried a torch and incense burner as he walked to the Deng Gong Shrine in Songling. It was Chensan's first time entering the majestic shrine hall, and he was amazed. Under the light of the flames, the glittering wall paintings appeared one by one before his eyes. After the lantern lighting ceremony ended, Chensan and his family went to the Tianhou Temple to pay respects. On the way home, the moon hung high in the sky, bathing the ancient walled village in an unusually peaceful glow. For the first time, Chensan developed a deep fondness for the traditional culture of his hometown. As Chensan grew older, he began to learn more about the history and culture of Longxue Head. Dad unpacked a picnic basket overflowing with sandwiches, fruit, and juice boxes. They ate their lunch while watching a playful crab scuttle across the rocks. Dad taught Audrey and Daniel how to navigate using a compass and chart, showing them how to identify landmarks and plan their course. Luna wants to help, her grandma tells her she must thank the earth for everything it does for us, and encourgae others to do the same. You can take a second and just say thank you earth, but you can also pick up trash you see on the street, use less water, walk to places instead of driving. Small things matter, and one day when luna is all grown up she can team up with people who also take time to thank the earth, and continue to tell others to do the same.,
