Max thought about all the things he touched before getting sick. But the owl had good news: "There's a magic way to keep germs away: washing our hands with soap and water!" Max was curious about this magic. Max went to the sink and washed his hands with soap and water. He rubbed his hands together to make lots of bubbles and rinsed them thoroughly. After washing, Max felt cleaner and fresher. As the days passed, Max started to feel better. He was strong and healthy again, thanks to washing his hands regularly. Max was happy to play outside with his friends once more.

Page 15-16 We look for Dad’s things. I find his football jersey and hold it close. “It smells like him.” Page 17-18 We find football tickets. I smile. “I remember that game—it was so fun!” Page 19-20 I find a shiny rock. Me and Dad found this on the beach. “It’s lucky.” Page 21-22 I put everything inside the box and close the lid. “Now I have a box of love.” Page 23-24 The next morning, I open the box. I take out Dad’s jersey and hold it tight. I feel connected to him. Page 25-26 Then I look at the rock and remember our trip to the beach. I smile. Mom hugs me. “Dad isn’t here, but love never leaves.” I close the box and hold it close. Dad will always be with me.

Lulu and Kiki finally helped Cici untie the net, finally Cici was free from the trap and ran with Lulu and Kiki away from the field.
