Near the edge of a city, on South Lafayette Street, sits a quaint little cottage and three apple trees. The walkway is lined with foliage galore, and there you'll find tulips, Russian sage, orange poppies and more! Many years ago the cottage was sold. The woman who'd owned it had gotten too old, to care for the flowers and bushes she'd planted, and the apples that grew were too much to handle. She needed someone who would pull all of the weeds, pick the ripe apples, and tidy the yard; well, what was the problem? That didn't sound hard! There was just one other thing the old woman needed: someone who would treat the creaky, quaint cottage the way it truly deserved to be treated! For not many knew this, And still, few know today, This little old cottage is a whimsical place! Past the painted-shut windows, the cobwebs and rust, the old woman had hidden magic pixie dust!

The river swelled. “Mama, will the water take our house?” Ish whispered. XH hugged her. “We’ll be okay, sweetheart.” Page 3: The town wasn’t okay. Osh frowned. “Everything’s ruined.” DH put a hand on his shoulder. “Not everything. We have each other.” Page 4: Then Ish pointed. “What’s in there?” A warehouse, full of clothes. XH held up a coat. “We can save these.” DH smiled. “For the town.” Page 5: For days, they sorted and washed. “This jacket is perfect for Mr. Jones!” Osh said. “Ms. Annie will love these boots!” Ish twirled. Page 6: As Christmas neared, the store shined with lights. “Let’s make it special!” Ish cheered. People came, smiling, hugging, thankful. Page 7: On Christmas Eve, the store filled with laughter. “Best Christmas ever,” Osh said. DH chuckled. “Better than presents?” Ish grinned. “Giving is better!” Page 8: After the holidays, DH had an idea. “How ‘bout the rodeo?” Osh gasped. “Barrel racing!” Ish clapped. “Cowboys!” Page 9: At the rodeo, they met Mae. “Your outfits are so pretty!” Ish said. Mae beamed. “I sew them myself.” “Teach us?” Osh asked. Page 10: Mae showed them how to sew. “Snip, stitch, tada!” she said. Osh made a bag. Ish decorated a dress. Page 11: As the sun set, DH hugged XH. “We’re a family again,” he said. XH smiled. “And we have a town full of friends.” Page 12: The store stayed open, always giving. Osh, Ish, XH, and DH learned— Family, like love, only grows when shared.

HAZEL STEPPED IN AN ANT BED AND SHE BEGAN TO SCREAM. HER FATHER RAN OVER TO SEE WHAT WAS WRONG. HAZEL HE NOTICES SHE HAD ANTS ON HER. HE BRUSED THEM OFF AND WHIPPED AWAY HER TEARS. HE TOLD HAZEL HE WILL PUT SOME CREAM ON HER BITES AND THEY WILL FEEL BETTER. HE BEGAN TO EXPLAIN TO HAZEL ABOUT THE ANTS AND HOW THEY ARE NEEDED ON EARTH. HAZELED NODDED WITH A SMILE AND STATED THAT SHE WILL BE MORE CAREFUL AND TO LOOK OUT FOR THE ANTS.

At the end of the day, Derin returned to her garden through the mysterious door. Her mother greeted him with a smile and gave her a warm hug.

I am Nana and my grandchildren and young children share fun stories with me and I want to write a children's book based on their stories. The first story I want you to write for me is about Sneaky Sneaky Boom Boom. He lives in the woods by my home and the grandkids tell me he is naughty. The main characters in this book is Samantha (she is smart, serious, actor, and loves gymnastics and 9 years old). The other main character is Jace (he is smart, silly, quick witted and loves soccer and is also 9 years old).
