There was a girl named Margie. She is cheerful and kind; however, she can't read because she has dyslexia. But it didn't stop her from loving books. She has audio-books, and colorful books that helps her understand what is written in the book. One of her favorite books is "The Chronicles of Narnia," written by C.S. Lewis.

One sunny morning, a little dog named Benji woke up feeling excited. Today, he was going on an adventure! (Children start in Dog Pose – hands and feet on the ground, hips high.) Benji stretched his legs and wagged his tail. Then, he ran out of his house and into the big, green forest. As he walked, he saw a tall, strong tree standing in the middle of the path. "Wow! What a big tree!" Benji said. He stood still and stretched his arms up like the branches. (Children move into Tree Pose – stand on one foot, arms up.) Benji heard a soft "meow." He turned and saw a small, fluffy cat sitting on a rock. "Hello, Cat! What are you doing?" asked Benji. "I am stretching my back," said the cat. She arched her back up and then down. (Children do Cat Pose – on hands and knees, round and arch the back.) Benji and the cat continued walking together when they heard a hissing sound. "What is that?" asked the cat. A long, shiny snake slithered out from behind a bush. "Hello, friends," said the snake. He stretched his body long and lifted his head. (Children do Snake Pose – lie on the stomach, hands under shoulders, and lift the chest.) Benji and the cat were happy to meet the snake. "Do you want to come on our adventure?" they asked. "Yes! But first, let’s rest on this big rock," said the snake. The three friends sat quietly on the rock, feeling the warm sun on their backs. (Children do Rock Pose – kneeling, fold forward, forehead on the ground, arms by sides.) After resting, they all stood up, stretched, and continued their adventure together, ready for more fun! The End.

I had a friend. His name was Gigs. Gigs and I liked to play. We built tall towers. We built garages. We planted flowers. We played in restaurants, and gigs have always made me my favorite food. Gigs loved to sing and dance. And when it came time to learn, he was always the first to call out the answer and say 2 plus 2 is 4! But one day, Gigs wasn’t in class. The teacher said gigs was all around but we couldn’t see him anymore. Gigs turned into beautiful butterflies with bright colors of green, purple, and yellow. She said to look at the butterfly that flew in the classroom. She said to look at the funny clouds In the sky. She said to look at the pinwheels spinning in the garden. That was Gigs. And he’s always with us wherever we are.

Tyla searches for a mythical necklace her grandmother told her about. On her journey, she meets great friends and not-so-great friends.

The children want to start collecting plastic bottle tops to recycle with Lids4Kids. They meet a nice volunteer who will drive their lids to Canberra for them. Then they send a letter home to their families and ask them to collect plastic bottle tops from milk bottles, pop bottles and water bottles. The children enjoy washing the lids in warm soapy water with their family (and pet dog). Next week all the children bring in a bag of lids each. Together they group the lids into colour groups. The nice volunteer pick them up and takes them to Lids4Kids in Canberra. The lids are then turned into a rainbow colored park bench. The teacher surprises the children by buying the rainbow park bench for their playground.

We each got a stuffed animal. Eli named his cougar stuffie "Sandcat Marie". Simon named his white wolf stuffie "Foof". 5. We had a great time but I was happy to get back to our home in Seattle afterwards.

I’m Apple, and I’m a bunny. This is my cozy little home! I really love it here! But being part of the Apple family can be tough sometimes. We’ve planted so many fruits and veggies! Oh no! The crows keep swooping down, stealing our hard work! When the villagers blame us for the food shortage, it makes me sad that there’s nothing left to eat! It feels like we’re always on the menu! People think we’re the Apple family because we love apples, but it’s really because we have a huge apple farm. Life is hard when every-bunny is fighting all the time. It’s like a constant game of hide and seek! Then one day, a red fox named Flower came to our village. Some animals were curious, but some bunnies were scared. I was nervous too and wondered why she was being so nice. I wanted to say hi, but I just couldn’t because I was too shy. It felt like my heart was doing a little pitter-patter. Flower started helping us out, working side by side and showing us how to farm better. She helped us grow our fruits and veggies really well! She told tail-wagging tales about her adventures and how she learned different ways to plant seeds. I started to feel more comfortable around her as I listened. One day, while we were planting together, I noticed that Flower struggled to reach a high branch. Gathering my courage, I hopped over to her. “Do you want me to help?” I squeaked, my heart racing like a hare. She looked surprised but smiled back at me. “That would be great, Apple!” I felt a thrill inside when she said my name! I helped her reach the branch, and we laughed together as we worked. It was the first time I’d really spoken to her, and it made me realize that talking to new friends wasn’t so scary. Who knew making friends could be so paws-itively delightful? As days went by, Flower and I grew closer. I learned she had a big heart and wanted to help our village. Together, we found ways to scare away the crows with shiny distractions. Talk about a sparkly strategy!

Arabella is a loveable and curious little girl, busy on life’s journey. In Arabella learns to Meditate, she sees her good friend, Liam, engaged in some strange behaviour in Miss Sparkle’s lounge and is intrigued. Her curiosity takes her on a journey to discover what meditation is about and finds her learning the marvelous practices of meditation, skills which she is hoping to teach her older brother in an attempt to combat their sibling rivalry. The Arabella Series is based on the quote by the Dali Lama “If every eight year old was taught to meditate, we would achieve world peace in one generation” and is written to bring an awareness of energy healing and practices such as meditation to children around the world. It is my vision to create kind and magical role models for children, to light a spark in them that encourages compassion, forgiveness and love.
