Mr. Smith sees that Harvey gets sad and explains to him what deductions are. He starts with federal taxes which is about 8 dollars from Harvey's paycheck. The government collects taxes from all citizens to built bridges and highways and fund the army. He then explains what the social security deduction is for and also, medicare, state and city taxes. At the end Harvey is glad that the government is thinking to save money for him so he gets it when he retires. Sparky is Harvey's dog. He is sad when Harvey is sad and then gets happy at the end when Harvey understands how taxes work.

But as they continued on these magical paths, Grandma became so happy in this realm that she decided that because she felt so much better in this enchanted place, that she would like to go ahead and stay. Alec and Toria were sad at first, but he magical creatures gave them a special magical key that they could use anytime they missed their grandma. The could just close their eyes when they turned the key and with their imaginations, would jump right back into the magical land. Grandma was happier than ever before and could do wonderful things. She swam with the mermaids and could even breathe like them under water! She was able to fly where she wanted when she would go on adventures with her fairy friends. The unicorns would always follow and whinny and dance around her with delight. Alec and Toria loved this land too but knew they could only visit once in a while. As they grew, they would visit their grandma, but less and less as there families grew. But they never forget and they always have their secret enchanted key to jump through the tree door anytime they wish. One day many years from now, they too will join their grandma for the magical adventures that await them beyond the tree door.

Little Fox awakens in a shiver. "It sure is chilly. It's time to get ready for the long cold!" Little Fox puts on his tie and his cap. He grabs his little wagon to gather supplies. Little Fox begins down the walk, where he finds some acorns. "Hmm, maybe I can make some acorn soup!" He collects ten acorns and puts them in his wagon. Little Fox stops at Rabbit's house. Rabbit is getting ready for the long cold as well. Rabbit is harvesting and stacking many carrots. Little Fox thinks, " Maybe some carrots would be good in my soup." Little Fox gives Rabbit two acorns for one carrot. Little Fox heads on down the walk by Hedghog's hole. Hedgehog is busy collecting moss for his bed and twigs for his door. Little Fox helps Hedgehog gather his supplies. Hedgehog gives Little Fox 2 bundles of twigs for three acorns. Little Fox continues down the walk to find more things for the long cold. Little fox came upon Turtle fishing in the pond. " Wow, some fish would be tasty in my soup!" he exclaimed. Turtle gives Little Fox 3 small fish for 4 of his acorns. Little Fox continues down the walk to find more things for the long cold. Little Fox finds Porcupine stuck under a log. Little Fox lifts the log and helps Porcupine to get free. Porcupine gives little fox a quill for his help! Satisfied with his adventurous walk, Little Fox begins to head home. Little Fox's wagon is a little heavier than when he started. He pulls his wagon around Turtle's pond, over Hedgehog's hole, passes Rabbit's house, and finally reaches his den. Little Fox is tired from his work today, but he's not finished yet. Little Fox takes everything inside. He looks at his findings for the long cold and is happy. He has an acorn, crunchy carrots, and tasty fish for his soup! He has plenty of twigs to keep his fire warm and toasty and a new quill to knit a new tie and cap! Little Fox finishes eating his soup and climbs into bed for a well-deserved good night's rest. The End.

Brooklyn journeys back to the land of rainbows, silver, and gold to hopefully be able to spend Christmas with her fairy god sister lotus. Nothing could have prepared her for the amount of excitement she experienced along the way! Lotus helped brooklyn find the true meaning of christmas by inviting her to experience it firsthand as her plus one.
