I am Luca. I am four years old, and I just started Kindy. It is exciting, but also a little bit scary. There are so many new things—new teachers, new friends, and a big new playground! This helps me feel safe. When I get to the Kindy room, I put my bag, crunch and sip, and water bottle in their places. This helps me get ready for the day. Before Kindy starts, I can play with the trucks and puzzles. Sometimes, I do this with Mum or Dad before they say goodbye. That helps me feel braver. Recess and Lunch At recess, all the children go outside to eat and play. I feel nervous and stay near the wall. Mrs. Kubicek notices and says, “Luca, would you like to sit with Milani and Bodhi?” I nod. Milani and Bodhi smile and say, “Come sit with us!” That makes me feel good inside. I move into the green zone—calm and happy! Sometimes, I want to stay with Mrs. Kubicek at recess and lunch. But when she leaves, I feel sad. She reminds me that it is important to play with my friends. I take a deep breath, press my hug button, and find Milani and Bodhi. Once I start playing, I feel much better! At the end of the day, I pack my bag and sit on the mat. When I see my grown-up waiting, I run to give them a big hug. “How was your day?” they ask.I smile and say, “I played with Milani and Bodhi.” Each day, I feel a little braver. If I feel nervous, I can take deep breaths, press my hug button, or ask for help. Kindy is full of adventures, and I am ready for them all!

One day, Teddy the bear was playing in the forest. His best friend, a bird named Pip, was with him. "Teddy, let's play hide and seek," said Pip. "Okay, Pip! Let's also use the words in, on, and under," said Teddy. First, Teddy stood next to a big tree. "Pip, look! I am in front of the tree!" he said. "Good, Teddy! Now, find something to stand on," said Pip. Teddy saw a big rock. He climbed on it. "Pip, look! I am on the rock!" he said. "Great, Teddy! Now, find a place to hide under," said Pip. Teddy found a big bush. He crawled under it. "Pip, I am under the bush!" he said. "Well done, Teddy! You used all the words: in, on, and under," said Pip. They kept playing and using the words. Teddy found himself in a small cave, on a log, and under a tree branch. As the sun went down, Teddy and Pip sat by the pond. "Thank you, Pip. I had fun and learned new words," said Teddy. "I am happy too, Teddy. Learning is fun," said Pip. They watched the sunset together. Teddy couldn't wait to play and learn more with Pip. The end.

Rob eats porridge for breakfast every day. Sometimes he picks fresh raspberries from his garden for his porridge. Apple, who was picking a small flower from the grass, smiled excitedly. ‘Why don't we go explore that green meadow over there?’ she suggested, pointing towards the fresh green expanse stretching not far from under the tree where they were staying. Enthusiastically, the three of them walked towards the vast green meadow. The sun shone warmly above their heads, and beautiful flowers bloomed all around, creating a colourful scene. Every now and then they stopped to admire the fluttering butterflies. After walking for some distance, Mango's eyes suddenly caught sight of something glittering in the grass. ‘Look at that!’ she exclaimed, pointing. Apple and Orange rushed over to Mango. There, in the undergrowth, was a medium-sized, gold-coloured stone that glittered amongst the greenery. The stone was very beautiful, as if it had been chiselled by the hand of a god. ‘Let's take it back to our tree.’ However, when they tried to lift it, it was heavier than they thought. Mango and Orange pulled, Apple pushed the rock slowly. They struggled persistently. Although they were tired, they did not give up. They encouraged each other and laughed. Finally, after a tiring journey, they managed to carry the golden stone to the bottom of the tree where they stopped. When the stone was placed on the ground, it reflected beautifully. The three of them sat by the stone, enjoying the fruits of their labour. From that day on, the golden stone became a symbol of their friendship.
