1. Dolphin, Turtle, Clownfish, and Starfish were playing tag in the ocean. They were laughing and swimming happily. The sun was shining, and the water sparkled like diamonds. 2. While swimming, Dolphin suddenly stopped. “Look!” he said. “The ocean is full of trash!” The friends looked around and saw plastic bottles, bags, and old nets floating everywhere. The once-beautiful ocean was now dirty. 3. “This is terrible,” said Turtle. “We need to clean this up right away!” “I’ll help!” said Starfish. “Let’s all work together to make the ocean clean again.” Clownfish nodded. “Yes! Our home needs us.” The friends agreed to start cleaning up the trash immediately. 4. Just as they began, a baby whale swam over. “What’s going on?” the whale asked curiously. “We’re cleaning the ocean,” Dolphin explained. “Can I help?” the whale asked with a big smile. “I can use my tail to push the trash into a pile.” The friends were happy to have more help. 5. The team got to work. Dolphin grabbed plastic bottles with his fins. Turtle picked up plastic bags floating near the coral. Starfish collected smaller pieces of trash stuck on the ocean floor. John Jr went to the internet and began telling Yuēhàn about the Mayflower and Pilgrims. 2. John Jr explained that the Mayflower was an English sailing ship that transported a group of English families, known today as the Pilgrims, from England to the New World. After 10 weeks at sea, Mayflower, with 102 passengers, reached the United States, dropping anchor near Cape Cod, Massachusetts, on November 21, 1620. The captain of the Mayflower was Christopher Jones. 3. John Jr went on that The pilgrims wanted to separate from the Church of Egland and they believed God wanted them to voyage to America. During the voyage, the pilgrims passed the time by reading by candlelight or playing cards and games. Upon the arrival on land, the pilgrims were surprised to see the ground frozen and that led to their inability to plant and harvest food. 4. John Jr told Yuehan about the native Indians giving a hand to the pilgrims. The Indians taught the pilgrims how to gather food and survival skills. The help from the Indians save 53 pilgrims from ultimately perishing. Most of the pilgrims died from diseases described as a mixture of scurvy, pneumonia, and tuberculosis. 5. The following year, the 53 pilgrims and 90 Wampanoag Indians had a celebration that we now call Thanksgiving. The Mayflower was torn apart after Christopher Jones passed away. 6. John Jr and Yuehan started counting down the days to Thanksgiving. They planned a special tribute and prayer for the Pilgrim and Indians!

1. John Jr and Vasi saw a show about gardening. It really sparked their interest. John Jr asked his mom if he and Vasi could plant a garden in backyard. She agreed and found a how to book on gardening for John Jr and Vasi. 2. John Jr got some of his allowance money and he and Vasi took off to the store. At the store John Jr and Vasi purchased cucumber, pepper, cantaloupe, radish and lettuce seeds. 3. John Jr and Vasi had to prep the ground for their garden. They had to till the soil to a depth of about 10 inches,add fertilizer to enrich the soil, Level the garden bed, and Water the soil well and let it settle for a few days. 4. A few days passed and John Jr and Vasi were ready to plant. They poked holes for the seeds, then placed seeds and covered dirt over seeds. After planting , they gave a nice watering to their garden. 5. John Jr and Vasi looked after and watered their garden daily. A few weeks went by and there was some buds sprouting. A few more weeks later there was fruit and vegetables starting to form. 6.. As summer was closing in, the fruit and veggies were ripe and in abundance. John Jr and Vasi went out to the garden and picked all the fruits and vegetables. There was so much that they gave Granny and a few neighbors some of their harvest. John Jr mom gave him and Vasi some cut up cucumber and cantaloupe. They really enjoyed it. 6. As

Once upon a time, there was a little bird on a farm. His feathers were messy, and he felt sad because he looked different from the other birds. The little bird watched the other birds playing and having fun every day. He wished he could join them, but he felt too shy and unsure of himself. One sunny day, the farmer's daughters came to the farm. ALEENA AND MALIA saw the little bird sitting alone and looking sad. The girls smiled kindly and said, "You may look different, but you are special in your way." The little bird felt a glimmer of hope. He decided to try joining the other birds in their games.
