Beside it lay a small packet of seeds labeled "The Seeds of Kindness." And because of her curiosity, Sydney said, “Let’s plant them and see what happens!” 3. They spent the afternoon digging small holes in the field and planted the seeds. They watered them carefully with the old watering can and went home, wondering what would grow. 4. The next morning, they rushed back to the field. To their amazement, the seeds had grown into tall, colorful flowers with heart shaped petals. 5. Each flower had a little tag that read a kind word like "Help," "Share," or "Smile." Each time they performed an act of kindness, the flowers in the field grew brighter and taller. 6. Soon, other children joined in, planting their own Seeds of Kindness. The once-empty field turned into a beautiful garden where everyone loved to gather, play, and help one another.

“There’s a monster under my bed and I know what you’re going to say but I swear there is! Every night when I’m laying in bed, I can hear it, a strange rumble, then scratch, scratch…. like claws scraping across the floor. So, it must be a monster. There’s no other explanation.” “I lie still trying to listen to the monster rustling about. But when I try to catch a glimpse, it’s always too dark. I can’t see a thing.” “I’ve tried keeping the lights on.” “I’ve tried checking under the bed before bedtime.” “And I’ve tried monster spray, but that just makes it sneeze” “So then I started thinking, what if the monster isn’t bad? What if it’s just lonely and needs a friend? I decided it was time to try something different.” “I take some of my favourite cookies and my favourite teddy. Maybe the monster would like those? So the next night, after dinner, I sneak them into bed. ‘Hi, Mr. Monster!’ I whisper, even though I’m still scared. ‘I brought you cookies…. And Ted, I’ll leave them here if you're hungry, but Ted is for cuddling, not eating!” “The next night, I hear it again: ‘Scratch, grrrrr, scratch!’. But this time I’m ready! I peek over the edge of the bed and wait.” “And then… I see it! A little nose pokes out, sniffing at the cookies, and then… a fat fluffy body and long fluffy tail! It’s not a monster at all! It’s my cat, Oscar!” “Oscar creeps from under the bed, stretches and hops right into my lap! I can’t believe it. The monster was my cat all along!” “Now, every night when I hear scratching under the bed, I smile because I know it’s not a monster. It’s just my cat, and he’s my friend now.” “Now, instead of getting scared, I just pat the bed and say, ‘Come on out, Oscar!’ And he does. Turns out having a monster cat under my bed is pretty awesome”

Fran and Jim go to the beach. Fran’s parents and Jim’s parents are there. Fran, Jim and both of their parents are from the Turks and Caicos Islands. Fran takes off her slippers and feels the sand between her toes. Jim runs towards the sea; he couldn’t wait to get into the water. Before reaching the water, Jim pauses, looks around and shouts to Fran to go into the water with him. Fran starts to run towards Jim then stops before reaching the water. Jims asks “what’s wrong? Don’t you want to go swimming with me?”. Fran looked a little sad and said “I want to go swimming but I don’t know how. I am afraid.” Jim tells Fran, “don’t be afraid, I have something that can help you to learn how to swim. Come with me.” Jim then runs towards his parents and shouts to his mother, “mommy, can you please give me the arm floats?”. Jim’s mother took out the arm floats from her beach bag, and gave them to Jim. Jim gave one to Fran and said “here, blow that float up and I will blow this one up”. Fran and Jim each blew up one arm float. Then Jim said “Now slide these up your arms. I will help you. They will help you to float in the water.” After the floats were on her little upper arms, she held out her arms and started to walk towards the water with Jim. Jim went into the water up to his knees first. Jim then turned and reached out his hand to Fran and said “come in the water with me”. Fran held his hand and walked into the water with him. As Fran went further into the water, she then exclaimed to Jim “I can’t feel the bottom with my feet anymore!”. Jim then laughed and said, “that’s because you are floating”. Then Fran realized that the arm floats were helping her to float. She then laughed and shouted to her parents saying “Mommy, Daddy, I am floating!”. Her parents waved to her smiling and Jim’s parents were also smiling. Fran and Jim then had fun laughing and playing in the water together, while both of their parents looked on, smiling. Fran and Jim had the best beach day ever.
