It followed the 1845 American annexation of Texas, which Mexico still considered its territory because it refused to recognize the Treaties of Velasco, signed by President Antonio López de Santa Anna after he was captured by the Texian Army during the 1836 Texas Revolution. The Republic of Texas was de facto an independent country, but most of its Anglo-American citizens who had moved from the United States to Texas after 1822 wanted to be annexed by the United States. 3. John Jr started to explain to Yuēhàn the key battles of the Mexican American War. Battle of Monterrey The first major battle of the war, which took place in 1846. Mexican forces were able to repel the first few attacks by U.S. forces, but eventually surrendered. Battle of Chapultepec A decisive battle in 1847, where troops led by Gen. Winfield Scott overwhelmed a group of cadets studying at the military academy in the castle. Battle of Palo Alto The first major engagement of the war, which took place on May 8, 1846. The American army was able to defeat the Mexican army, despite the Mexican army being much larger, due to their superior weapons and training. 4. John Jr and Yuēhàn found out Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo ended the Mexican War and annexed a large amount of territory to California.

But the big fish wasn’t for Avery. It was the prize catch of the day, and the fishermen planned to sell it at the market. Avery, however, was too greedy to think about that. So, while everyone was busy, he quietly snuck up, grabbed the fish in his mouth, and ran off. Avery was thrilled! He imagined feasting on the giant fish all by himself. But as he hurried to his secret spot, he crossed a narrow bridge over a stream. When Avery looked down, he saw something amazing — another cat in the water holding an even bigger fish! Of course, it was just his own reflection, but Avery didn’t know that. “I want that fish too!” he thought greedily, dropping the fish from his mouth into the water as he tried to snatch the one he saw below. SPLASH! The fish fell into the stream and swam away, leaving Avery with nothing. His big, shiny fish was gone, and so was the reflection he had mistaken for another prize. Avery sat by the stream, sad and hungry. When he returned to the docks, the fishermen had packed up and left, and there were no more fish to be found. Avery realised that his greed had cost him his meal. From that day on, Avery learned an important lesson: being greedy can make you lose what you already have. He still loved fish, but he never took more than he needed again.

As the pilot inflates the balloon, John Jr and Nazut can feel the heat from the burners and hear them roar. Once balloon was upright everyone boarded the super size basket. The take off was slow. John Jr and Nazut felt a breeze everytime they went to a new altitude. 6. John Jr and Nazut feel weightless as they glide through the air with the wind, traveling at speeds of five to six miles per hour. The 360 degree view was spectacular. Everything below looked so tiny. As the end of the ride approached, John Jr and Nazut thanked the pilot for "a magical experience that' was peaceful, exhilarating, and gentle." 7. The pilot had to keep using the burners to get the balloon to land. Once landed, everyone left the basket. John Jr and Nazut Thanked the pilot for an awesome time.

One day, I met my brother Carson in the park. Then we decided to go on an adventure together. First, we went to Japan and saw a big volcano. It was so beautiful. After that, we went to a hotel and stayed for two days. On the first day, we had dinner together. It was delicious! On the second day, we visited the zoo. There were lions, capybaras, and monkeys. We had so much fun! Then we went to a toy shop and bought a cool toy for Carson. On the third day, as we were heading home, the volcano suddenly erupted! Carson and I ran away as fast as we could. Carson shouted, “Hurry up! Let’s get on the plane!” So, we quickly left Japan. Four hours later, we arrived home safely. Carson and I had so much fun in Japan!

Lucas!” Ruby yelled, determined to stop it. The balloon grew enormous, wobbling across the sky. “Hold on!” Daddy shouted as they chased it to a bouncy hill. Slurp! The balloon swallowed Ruby and Daddy too! Inside, it was squishy and silly. Ruby found everyone wobbling in a giggly pile. “Bounce with us!” Kyra laughed. The balloon wibbled and wobbled until—POP! Water splashed everywhere as everyone tumbled out. “We’re free!” Octav cheered. “And soaking wet!” giggled Mummy, squeezing Lucas. Ruby held the balloon’s remains. “That was the wibbliest adventure ever!” Daddy laughed. “Next time, keep it in the tub!” Ruby smiled. She knew more adventures lay ahead. The End.
