The story tells of a child and mother who have come into a homeless shelter due to domestic violence in their home. Quanada house is a home for parents and children that people stay at when their home isn't safe. It is a safe place that looks like a big house with an upstairs that has 5 bedrooms. Throughout the story, Scarlett shows the family their room, the dining room and kitchen, and the playroom. The Vikings set up camp and built small houses to stay in. They spent the winter in Vinland, enjoying the fresh food and exploring the forests and fields. But as winter came to an end, Leif knew it was time to return home. He and his crew packed up their ship, and with one last look at the beautiful land, they set sail back home. Leif promised himself he would tell everyone about this amazing place he had discovered. When they returned home, Leif shared the story of Vinland with other Vikings. Even though he never returned to Vinland, he was proud to be the first European to find and explore it. And so, the tale of Leif Erickson and his journey across the Atlantic Ocean was told for many years. He showed everyone that with bravery, a strong ship, and a little bit of adventure, you could discover incredible new places, even ones you didn’t expect! And that is how the Vikings and Leif Erickson became the first Europeans to reach North America.

One day there was this kid named Xayden. Xayden went to the park one day and wanted to shoot some basketball. There was one issue though, he wasn’t very good at basketball. In fact Xayden wasn’t good at all. Some other guys saw him missing and started laughing at him. They made fun of him and started calling him names. When they left, a kid named Blaise went over to Xayden and asked him if he wanted help to get better at basketball. Xayden was lit up with joy and immediately said yes! Xayden did some drills with Blaise and started making his shots. After working with Blaise almost every shot seemed to go Xaydens way. The next day, the same guys that were making fun of Xayden came back to the park. Xayden wanted to show them how good he was, so he asked them if they wanted to play a game. Xayden was obliterating them , doing behind the back, in between the legs, shooting threes, layups, and making all of them! Xayden and Blaise ended up winning and one of the guys even ran away. The other guy couldn’t except defeat and said “ Well…well… I’m still better than you!”. Xayden became a great basketball player.
